Omani handball coach Ahmed bin Salim Ambusaidi, has begun a training attachment with Germany’s Osnabruck Club from March 28 to April 16, in a step aimed at enhancing his technical and physical expertise while gaining insight into the latest training methods adopted by European clubs.
The programme provides Ambusaidi, handball coach of Nizwa Club, with the opportunity to engage directly with high-level players and coaches, contributing to the development of his tactical knowledge and coaching approach, as well as improving his ability to manage matches and team dynamics in line with modern training methodologies.
During the attachment, the coach will take part in daily training sessions, attend official and friendly matches and gain exposure to the professional sports environment within German clubs, who are widely regarded as among the leading systems in the development of handball worldwide.
This initiative comes as part of the Oman Handball Association’s efforts to support and develop national coaching talent. The federation is keen to provide opportunities for coaches to participate in international training programmes and attachments, enabling them to gain valuable experience and enhance their capabilities to lead national teams and club sides more effectively.
Ambusaidi is considered one of the leading national coaches in Omani handball. He recently served as assistant coach of the national indoor handball team during the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship held in Kuwait last January. He currently continues his role with Nizwa Club, where he has achieved notable results, including guiding the first team to a fourth-place finish in the Oman First Division Handball League, in addition to strong performances with youth teams.
