Govt's acquisition is very positive for SalamAir's growth: CEO

The CEO of SalamAir stated that the government of the Sultanate of Oman's announcement regarding the acquisition of the airline is a positive development.
Adrian Hamilton-Manns expressed that the acquisition, which was announced by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, is very beneficial.
He mentioned that it ensures the growth of both SalamAir and Oman Air in a sustainable manner, maintains balance in the aviation market in Oman and allows each carrier to focus on its core markets.
In a recent interview with the Observer, Hamilton-Manns emphasised that SalamAir is dedicated to being a low-cost airline, sticking to its established model of providing affordable flights to passengers. He expressed the airline's contentment with the acquisition and extended gratitude to Eng Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Oman Air, and the team from SalamAir for their efforts in finalising the deal. Hamilton-Manns stated that the outcome of the acquisition is overwhelmingly positive for SalamAir.

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman confirmed the completion of the acquisition of SalamAir, highlighting the strategic significance of the move in enhancing the country's aviation system. The acquisition aims to streamline operations, optimise resources, and bolster the sector's capacity to support air connectivity and tourism sustainably.
Both Oman Air and SalamAir will maintain their separate fleets, with potential opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing being explored. The government clarified that the acquisition of SalamAir does not involve a merger with Oman Air.
