Several lives were lost in recent rains, while some others were critically injured by the rescue teams, despite repeated warnings to stay away from flowing wadis or flash floods.
It may be noted that all of them died while deliberately crossing wadis or while being reckless.
The National Emergency Management Committee (NCEM) has emphasized the necessity of following preventive measures to protect lives, especially the importance of staying home and not going out except for absolute necessity and after ensuring that these roads are passable.
Citizens and residents must support competent authorities by adhering to the guidelines and instructions, which will contribute to reducing risks. Regarding the issue of recklessness for drivers, there is a law that we tell citizens and residents that there are penalties for drivers who deliberately risk crossing wadis, whether imprisonment or a fine.
NCEM also urges parents not to allow their children to go out and play during the rains, or to play near these water bodies, given the associated dangers. It is also important to get news from official sources.
