MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality has intensified its field operations across various wilayats of Muscat Governorate in response to the current weather conditions and heavy rainfall, with a strong focus on maintaining safe and smooth traffic movement.
According to statements issued via its official account on X, the municipality is carrying out continuous street cleaning operations alongside the removal of accumulated rainwater from roads and public spaces. These efforts are aimed at keeping roads clear, reducing disruptions and ensuring safe mobility, particularly in areas affected by water accumulation.
Municipal teams are actively deployed across affected locations, working around the clock to manage the situation. A 24/7 system has been activated to receive public reports and respond promptly, supported by a strong and continuous field presence.
Cleaning operations remain central to the response, with crews focusing on clearing drainage paths and removing standing water to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible. These measures play a key role in reducing road hazards and supporting safer driving conditions during the ongoing weather situation.
Muscat Municipality emphasised that its efforts are driven by a commitment to public safety and the swift restoration of normal conditions. The ongoing operations also contribute to protecting the environment while ensuring the continuity of essential municipal services.
The municipality has also urged residents and citizens to exercise caution and follow public safety instructions, including avoiding water accumulation areas, staying away from wadis, not parking in low-lying areas and using alternative routes when necessary.
As a precautionary measure, parks and recreational areas have been temporarily closed until weather conditions stabilise.
Muscat Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its efforts until conditions return to normal, ensuring that roads remain safe and daily life proceeds with minimal disruption despite the heavy rainfall.
