Muscat Municipality sets regulations for mobile beauty salons

MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality has introduced a set of regulations governing the operation of mobile beauty salons, which will function from specially equipped vehicles.
According to the guidelines, licences will be granted only to already licensed women’s salons that meet approved health standards.
All mobile salon staff must be women.
The municipality stipulated that vehicles must comply with strict health, technical and safety requirements, including the use of approved and sanitised tools and products. Equipment must be disinfected before and after each use.
Each mobile unit is also required to be fitted with a hand-washing sink, sanitisation supplies and proper waste disposal systems, ensuring high standards of hygiene and customer safety.
