Heavy rains expected in South al Batinah, Muscat

Muscat: Thunderstorms due to the impact of the low-pressure system will continue to affect the coastal areas of South al Batinah in the next two to three hours, Muscat. Buraimi and parts of North al Batinah around the mountains.
Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 knots as the thunderstorms approach, especially in the North and South Al Batinah governorates around midday, and extending to the North and South Al Sharqiyah governorates by the evening. Places such as Wadi al Mawail and Sur received over 100 mm of rainfall.
Yunus bin Hussein al Shizawi, specialist at Oman Meterology, said, 'We expect significant rainfall today in the coming days, but with a somewhat lesser impact than on Saturday and Monday, with rainfall amounts today potentially reaching 80 mm Muscat Airport within six hours received 30 mm of rain on Monday.
