Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 knots as the thunderstorms approach, especially in the North and South Al Batinah governorates around midday, and extending to the North and South Al Sharqiyah governorates by the evening. Places such as Wadi al Mawail and Sur received over 100 mm of rainfall.
