Northern governorates to see more heavy rains today

MUSCAT: The governorates of Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, Musandam, Al Batinah North and Al Batinah South experienced heavy thundershowers associated with strong downdrafts, causing most wadis to flow.
Hilal bin Salim al Hajri, Head of the Forecasting and Early Warning System Department at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said that there are chances of continued thundershowers over the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, Al Sharqiyah North, Al Sharqiyah South, and the northern parts of Al Wusta.
Most wilayats of Muscat Governorate witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday due to the ongoing weather conditions affecting the Sultanate of Oman. Musandam Governorate witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall.
Moderate to heavy rains were also reported in Musandam Governorate on Monday.
In the interest of public safety and due to the unstable weather conditions, the Royal Hospital has decided to postpone appointments scheduled between March 24 and 26 for patients who are unable to attend.
Patients are advised to reschedule their appointments at a later time once conditions improve.
All hospital services will continue as usual despite the current weather conditions in the Sultanate of Oman.
The hospital team will contact affected patients to reschedule their postponed appointments in due course. Patients may also follow up during official working hours via WhatsApp at 90669066.
Emergency services remain fully operational 24/7 without interruption.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced the closure of the Al Amerat–Bausher Mountain road as a precautionary measure due to expected heavy rainfall in the coming hours.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes until further notice and to adhere to safe driving guidelines during rainy conditions.
