Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has forecast the onset of weather disturbances in the Sultanate beginning Friday, March 20, due to the influence of a low-pressure system affecting the region.
According to the advisory, cloud formation is expected to increase, accompanied by scattered rainfall that may occasionally be thundery. Rainfall activity is projected to intensify gradually from Sunday, with chances of heavier precipitation in the following days.
The CAA indicated that the weather system will initially have a limited impact but is expected to strengthen to moderate levels before gradually weakening later in the forecast period.
Meteorological analysis shows the low-pressure system centred over the eastern Arabian Sea, extending in waves towards the region between March 20 and March 26. The system is expected to interact with warm and moist southeasterly winds, contributing to the formation of convective clouds and rainfall activity.
Authorities noted that these are preliminary indicators and subject to change, urging the public to follow regular updates issued by official channels.
