Asfandyar XI clinch PSC Ramadan Cricket Tournament title in Muscat

Muscat: Asfandyar XI were crowned champions of the PSC Ramadan Evenings Cricket Tournament 2026 after defeating Meerath Boushar in the final held at the Pakistan School Muscat ground.
The tournament was organized by the Pakistan Social Club (PSC) Oman in collaboration with Pakistan School Muscat
Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, was the chief guest at the ceremony, while Paul Robert Sheridan, Vice Chairman of Oman Cricket, attended as the guest of honour.
In the final match, Asfandyar XI won the toss and elected to bat first, delivering a powerful batting performance to post a formidable total of 149 runs in eight overs.
Meerath Boushar attempted to chase the target but managed to score 82 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted eight overs, handing Asfandyar XI a convincing 67-run victory and the championship title.
Sajid of Asfandyar XI was named the Man of the Match in the final after an outstanding bowling performance, claiming three wickets in two overs while conceding only seven runs.
Several individual awards were also presented during the ceremony. Ibrar of Asfandyar XI was named Best Player of the Tournament, while Hussain of Meerath Boushar received the Best All-Rounder award.
Consolation prizes were awarded to Haroon of Boom Boom ITL and Touseef of Chaudhry XI.
During the closing ceremony, the Ambassador of Pakistan and the Vice Chairman of Oman Cricket presented the champions trophy to Asfandyar XI and the runners-up trophy to Meerath Boushar, praising both teams for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
Syed Jamil Zaidi, Chief Coordinator of the tournament, expressed appreciation to all participating teams, organizing committee members and volunteers for their contributions in making the tournament successful.
Kaleem Akhtar, Chief Organizer of the tournament, also thanked the participating teams and supporters. He extended special thanks to Ameer Hamza, Chairman of Pakistan School System Muscat, for providing the sports facilities at the Pakistan School Muscat ground which helped ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament.
The closing ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistan Social Club leadership, including M. Nadeem Azeemi (Chairman PSC), Zahid Shakoor (Vice Chairman), Imran Toor (Finance Director), Kashif Zaeem (General Secretary), Shaandar Bokhari, Qamar Riaz, Usman Lakhan, William John and Ch. Ashraf, along with a large number of community members and cricket enthusiasts.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to members of the organizing and technical committees in recognition of their contributions, including Azra Aleem and Iftikhar Bhatti (commentators), Usman Akram (scorer), Sajid (online streaming), umpires Mujahid and Sameer, and technical committee members Haider Ali, Abdul Qayyum and Mohammad Imtiaz.
The tournament attracted large crowds throughout the holy month of Ramadan and provided a vibrant platform for community engagement, sportsmanship and competitive cricket among teams in Muscat.
