Seeb defeat Salalah, Al Amerat edge past Nizwa in Youth Basketball League

MUSCAT: Seeb Club secured an important 84-75 win over Salalah Club in the Oman U-18 Youth Basketball League for the 2025-2026 sports season, while Al Amerat Club snatched a thrilling 48-46 victory over Nizwa Club in the two matches held at the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
Following the two results, Seeb moved to 9 points, level with Al Amerat, while both Nizwa and Salalah now have 10 points.
In the first match, Seeb produced a strong performance to overcome Salalah 84-75 in a game marked by excitement and close competition until the closing stages. Seeb’s standout players included Azd al Bahlani, Abdulrahman al Maamari, Azzan al Ajmi and Malik Mohammed, while Salalah saw notable displays from Mishaal Kafkaf, Muhab al Hanbmasi and Qaisar al Balushi.
The game began evenly, with Seeb ending the first quarter ahead 17-15. They then strengthened their advantage in the second quarter by scoring 25 points against Salalah’s 19 to take a 42-34 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Salalah managed to reduce the gap after scoring 17 points against Seeb’s 14, leaving Seeb still in front 56-51. In the fourth quarter, however, Seeb regained their attacking rhythm and added 28 points compared to Salalah’s 24 to seal the contest 84-75.
The match was officiated by Thani al Khalasi as first referee, Taha al Amri as second referee and Hussein al Maimari as third referee, while the scorers’ table included Rayan al Dhabouni, Mahmood al Ajmi and Hafez Oulad Ahmed.
In the second match, Al Amerat claimed a valuable two-point win over Nizwa, 48-46, in a balanced contest that remained open until the final minutes.
Noah Brink and Mazin al Owaisi starred for Al Amerat, while Younis al Shraiqi, Nasser Ambusaidi and Adam al Hinai stood out for Nizwa.
Al Amerat made a strong start and ended the first quarter leading 13-6. Nizwa then cut the deficit in the second quarter, which ended with Al Amerat still ahead 23-18. The third quarter remained closely contested and finished 35-32 in favour of Al Amerat. Although Nizwa held a slight edge in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points to Al Amerat’s 13, the earlier advantage proved enough for Al Amerat to clinch the game 48-46.
The second game was officiated by Mazin al Hilali as first referee, Ali al Suleimani as second referee and Al Mahdi al Alawi as third referee, while the scorers’ table featured Rayan al Dhabouni, Mahmood al Ajmi and Fatima al Harthy.
