University of Nizwa, Oman Logistics Academy reach ‘Koorathon’ final

The University of Nizwa and Oman Logistics Academy (Team A) advanced to the final of the “Koorathon” Ramadan Football Championship for Higher Education Institutions after winning their respective semifinal matches held last Wednesday.

University of Nizwa defeated Sultan Qaboos University 2–1 in the first semifinal. Hisham al Hilali opened the scoring for Nizwa in the first half before Malik al Kathiri equalised for Sultan Qaboos University early in the second half. Al Nasr al Rawahi later netted the decisive goal to send University of Nizwa into the final.

In the second semifinal, Oman Logistics Academy (Team A) secured their place in the final after overcoming the International College of Engineering and Management in a competitive encounter.

The final will see University of Nizwa face Oman Logistics Academy (Team A) as both teams aim to clinch the title of the inaugural “Koorathon” Ramadan Championship for Higher Education Institutions.
