Seeb overcome Nizwa, Salalah beat Al Amerat in Youth Basketball League

Seeb Club secured an important 58-49 win over Nizwa Club in the Oman Under-18 Youth Basketball League for the 2025-2026 season, while Salalah Club defeated Al Amerat Club 76-70 in the two matches held at the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Friday.
With these results, Salalah moved to 9 points, Seeb to 7 points, Nizwa to 9 points and Al Amerat to 7 points.
Seeb and Nizwa match was evenly balanced and highly competitive before Seeb managed to seal victory in the final quarter through a strong collective display and standout performances from several players. Abdulrahman al Maamari led Seeb’s scoring with 14 points, followed by Azad al Bahlani with 13 points, while Azzan al Ajmi and Qaid al Kindi added 7 points each. Al Farouq al Husseini contributed 5 points.
For Nizwa, Nasser Anbo Saidi and Al Mulham al Aboudani were the top scorers with 11 points each, while Adam al Hinai added 7 points.
Seeb held a slight edge in the first quarter, ending it ahead 10-9, before maintaining their narrow advantage in the second quarter to take a 24-22 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Nizwa regained momentum and overturned the score after putting up 16 points compared to Seeb’s 13, moving ahead 38-37. However, Seeb responded strongly in the fourth quarter, asserting their attacking superiority by scoring 21 points against Nizwa’s 11 to claim a 58-49 victory.
The match was officiated by a refereeing crew consisting of Thani al Khalasi as first referee, Wafa al Samri as second referee and Taha al Amri as third referee. The scorers’ table included Omaima al Hajri, Rayan al Dhabouni and Yaqoub al Nadabi.
In the second match, Salalah claimed a deserved 76-70 win over Al Amerat after a strong contest in which both teams produced a good technical performance. Mishaal Kafkaf starred for Salalah with 27 points, followed by Mahab al Balushi with 16 points, Qaisar al Balushi with 14 points and Haitham Bait Mubarak with 8 points.
For Al Amerat, Noah Brink impressed with 27 points, while Mazin al Alawi scored 17 points and Ibrahim al Balushi added 8 points.
Salalah started strongly and took the first quarter 17-13, before the closely contested second quarter ended with Salalah leading 38-36 at halftime. In the third quarter, Salalah imposed their advantage and widened the gap after scoring 22 points against Al Amerat’s 15, ending the period in front 60-51. Although Al Amerat improved in the fourth quarter and scored 19 points compared to Salalah’s 16, it was not enough, as Salalah held on to win 76-70.
The second match was officiated by Rashid al Mushaifiri as first referee, Ali al Sulaimani as second referee and Thabit al Hinai as third referee, while the scorers’ table featured Ghalib al Hasani, Yaqoub al Nadabi and Hafez Awlad Ahmed.
