Oman Sail were crowned champions of the 2026 Ghazi Ramadhan futsal tournament after defeating Oman Charitable Organisation 3-1 in the final, bringing the curtain down on an edition filled with excitement and strong competition. The tournament once again underlined its growing status as one of the leading sporting and community events in Sur during the holy month of Ramadhan.
The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Amer bin Nasser al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation, while the tournament was supported by Oman LNG and organised by the Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth in Sur.
The final concluded a vibrant run in the 23rd edition of the Ghazi Ramadhan activities, which drew strong public and community attendance and wide participation, reflecting the tournament’s place as a renewed sporting, social and cultural platform in Sur’s Ramadhan calendar. Earlier media coverage highlighted not only the competitive side of the championship, but also its wider community role, the value of institutional partnership and the professional standard of organisation surrounding the event.
In the final, Oman Sail asserted their superiority and converted their attacking presence into three goals scored by Jumaa Naseeb, Sultan al Hashmi and Mubarak al Bahlouli, while Mishari Mohammed netted the only goal for Oman Charitable Organisation, who also enjoyed an impressive run to the title match before settling for second place.
Sunday also featured the third-place playoff, where the Directorate of Labour defeated Al Oruba Club 5-3 to claim third place after an eight-goal encounter that once again reflected the high competitive spirit that marked the tournament through to its closing stages.
The latest edition of the Ghazi Ramadhan Tournament extended the event’s consistent success from year to year, whether in terms of technical quality, community engagement or media attention. It also reflected the importance of cooperation between sports institutions, community bodies and supporting entities in delivering a Ramadhan event that brings together sporting competition and a broader social dimension.

Dr Amer bin Nasser al Matani said they were delighted by the special atmosphere and the great joy created by the youth through this sporting festival, noting that over the past two weeks the tournament had produced entertaining and high-quality performances, along with fair competition and the strong sporting spirit shown by all players.
He also thanked the Development Foundation of Oman LNG for its continued support, praised the participating teams and expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY) for hosting the sporting gathering. In his concluding remarks, he voiced his deep appreciation to the fans whose attendance played a major role in the tournament’s success, stressing that efforts would continue to deliver even more and that the next edition would be even better following the success of this year’s tournament.
