AL RUSTAQ: Religious lectures were held at several mosques across the wilayats of Al Batinah South Governorate, organised by the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the governorate.
Delivered by the department’s preachers, the lectures focused on the virtues and spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Speakers highlighted its unique characteristics and the blessings Muslims receive during this sacred period, including the significance of Laylat Al Qadr (the Night of Power), which is considered equal to a thousand months of worship for those who observe it with faith and devotion.
The preachers also discussed the jurisprudence of fasting and encouraged worshippers to increase acts of devotion during Ramadhan. These include performing voluntary prayers, reciting the Holy Quran, maintaining family ties and offering Zakat to those in need.
Special emphasis was placed on the spiritual importance of the last ten days of Ramadhan, which provide believers with a valuable opportunity to seek Laylat Al Qadr. The lectures encouraged greater engagement in night prayers (Tahajjud), Quran recitation, and charitable acts that reflect the values of compassion and social solidarity.
Speakers also noted that these blessed days serve as a time for repentance and spiritual renewal, strengthening one’s relationship with Allah.
The lectures further highlighted significant historical events in Islamic history that took place during Ramadhan, including the Battle of Badr, the Conquest of Mecca, and the Battle of Ain Jalut. — ONA
