With Omani airspace and its airports functioning normally, Muscat and the other three airports have been catering to the bulk of the Middle East air traffic over the past week, including the repatriation flights.

Only around 14% of the flights of the scheduled flights are cancelled from Muscat Airport, according to Cirium analytical agency.

While no flights operated from Doha (DOH), from Bahrain (BAH), 16 flights operated from Abu Dhabi (AUH), 56 flights from Muscat (MCT), and 118 flights from Dubai (DXB) on Friday.

The flights from the UAE are special ones for the repatriation of the stranded passengers from the country.

Oman Air and Salam Air are operating a bus-flight combo service with the bus service from Sharjah to Muscat and an onward flight on the respective airlines.

Oman Air is operating additional flights to/from: London Heathrow (March 7–16), Istanbul ( March 9–16 ), Bangkok (March 8–15), Kuala Lumpur (March), Cairo (March), Mumbai (March)  

Oman Airports it continues to operate around the clock without slot constraints, enabling them to support airlines requiring operational flexibility, additional capacity or temporary network adjustments.
The company noted that airport slots are coordinated through Airport Coordination Limited (ACL), inviting airlines wishing to operate services to Muscat, Salalah, or Sohar to submit slot requests through the standard ACL process.

It will have 106 return daily flights operating to 83 destinations, representing almost 60% of the route network.  

Qatar Airways' scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace. Qatar Airways will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of Qatari airspace by the relevant authorities. A further update will be provided on March 7. 

Many ny foreign airlines and their respective governments have intensified efforts to evacuate their citizens from the Middle East, including in the Gulf. 

It may be noted that Oman Airspace has remained one, and Muscat Airport has a minimum level of cancellations since the war started on February 28, according to Cirium analytics.

In a statement, the Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, said that the Sultanate of Oman is working closely with governments and international airlines to facilitate flights for those seeking to leave the region.
