Qeem Al Alamiya beat Shooting Stars, Emerald win

Muscat: Qeem Al Alamiya and Emerald continued their strong performances in the Fifth Ramadhan Women’s Basketball Championship for Institutions and Organisations 2026, organised by the Oman Basketball Association. Both teams finished the second round at the top of the standings following two matches held at the sub-hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
The round saw Qeem Al Alamiya defeat Shooting Stars 45–37, while Emerald secured a 35–28 victory over Betal. With these results, both Qeem Al Alamiya and Emerald moved to four points each, while Shooting Stars and Betal remained on two points apiece.
The clash between Qeem Al Alamiya and Shooting Stars lived up to expectations, delivering a competitive contest from the outset. Qeem Al Alamiya ended the first quarter ahead 12–5 and gradually widened the margin in the second quarter to lead 24–16 at half-time.
Although Shooting Stars improved significantly in the fourth quarter and managed to reduce the gap by scoring 16 points, Qeem Al Alamiya’s earlier scoring advantage ultimately secured them a 45–37 victory.
Individually, Ghadeer delivered an outstanding performance for Qeem Al Alamiya with 20 points, supported by Reem with 8 points and Fatima with 8 points. On the other side, Shamsh al Duha led Shooting Stars’ efforts with 22 points, assisted by Malak (10 points), while Lamar and Sarah added contributions to keep the team within reach.
EMERALD TURN THE TABLES
In the second match, Emerald claimed a well-earned victory over Betal in a game that remained competitive for much of the first half before Emerald sealed the result in the closing minutes through solid defence and effective offensive rebounding.
The match began at a balanced pace, with Betal capitalising on organised attacks and close-range scoring to take the first quarter 11–9.
Emerald improved in the second quarter through defensive pressure and quick transitions, scoring 8 points against Betal’s 7, but Betal maintained a slim 18–16 lead at half-time.
Scoring stayed low in the third quarter as both teams relied on tight defence, with Emerald reducing the gap to 23–22 by the end of the period.
In the final quarter, Emerald showed greater determination, turning the score with structured attacks and effective rebounds. The team scored 13 points while holding Betal to just 4, sealing a 35–28 victory.
Kimia was the standout performer for Emerald with 25 points, supported by Juhaina (6 points), and contributions from Tami and Reema. For Betal, Bea (8 points), Ward (6 points) and Angelica (5 points) were the main scorers, while Kristina also made attempts to keep her team competitive.
