Rain expected over parts of Oman from March 3 to 5

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has forecast unsettled weather conditions across parts of the Sultanate of Oman from March 3 to March 5, 2026, due to the influence of a low-pressure system.

According to the weather bulletin issued on March 2 at 12:30 pm, cloud advection is expected to begin on Tuesday, bringing chances of light, scattered rainfall over Musandam Governorate, the Al Hajar Mountains and the coasts of Dhofar Governorate.

The CAA indicated that cloud activity will continue on Wednesday and Thursday, affecting Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and parts of Muscat Governorate, in addition to the Al Hajar mountain range and the coasts of the Arabian Sea.

These weather conditions may result in intermittent rainfall in the affected areas.

The agency has  issued another weather alert for fog and dust storms affecting several governorates across the Sultanate of Oman.

In a fog alert issued on March 2, 2026 at 11:00 pm, the authority indicated that parts of the South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, as well as coastal areas along the Sea of Oman, are expected to be affected. The alert level has been classified as limited impact.

The CAA also issued a dust storm warning starting at 10:00 am on March 2, covering South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. The impact level has similarly been described as limited.
