MUSCAT, FEB 22
Seeb Club reaffirmed their place at the top of the standings with a convincing 3–0 victory over Oman Club in the match held at Seeb Stadium.
Seeb entered the match with an aggressive attacking approach, imposing their rhythm early on and translating their superiority into a first goal in the 31st minute. Omar al Malki capitalised on a precise pass from Abdullah Fawaz inside the penalty area, calmly slotting the ball into the net to give his side the lead.
Oman attempted to fight back by increasing pressure and pushing forward, but Seeb proved more organised and disciplined. In the 41st minute, Nasser al Rawahi intercepted the ball in midfield and surged forward before delivering a pass to Zaher al Aghbari, who doubled the lead with a composed finish past goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani.
At the start of the second half, Seeb maintained control, and Omar al Malki confirmed his outstanding performance by scoring his second goal and Seeb’s third in the 55th minute with a well-timed header from a perfectly delivered cross by Abdulmajeed al Balushi. The tempo eased afterwards, with Seeb comfortably preserving their advantage until the final whistle.
With this victory, Seeb strengthened their lead at the top with 38 points, moving one step closer to the title, while Oman Club remain seventh with 18 points.
AL NAHDA SEAL IT WITH EXPERIENCE, IBRI PAY THE PRICE LATE ON
In a tactically contested encounter marked by mutual determination to secure points, Al Nahda Club overcame Ibri 2–0 to stay firmly in the race and continue chasing the top teams in the match held at Al Buraimi Sports Complex.
Al Nahda opened the scoring early in the 16th minute through Mohammed al Ghafri, who received the ball inside the penalty area and produced a stunning double-kick finish, giving his team a 1–0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Ibri pushed for an equaliser, but Al Nahda’s defensive solidity denied them. As the match approached its conclusion, the decisive moment arrived in stoppage time (90+2) when Ibri’s Khalifa al Jamahi inadvertently turned a cross from Abdulaziz al Shamousi into his own net, sealing a 2–0 win for Al Nahda.
The result lifts Al Nahda to 25 points in fifth place, while Ibri remain in twelfth with 12 points.
AL RUSTAQ AND AL NASR DRAW
Meanwhile, the clash between Al Rustaq and Al Nasr was evenly balanced and cautious for most of its duration, ending in a draw at
Al Rustaq Sports Complex a result that reflected the competitive parity between the two sides but did little to boost their ambitions.
Al Rustaq took the lead through their professional striker Jaira Jove, before Al Nasr equalised via Beni Mujibaya, leaving both teams to settle for a point apiece.
Following the draw, Al Nasr move to 32 points in third place, while Rustaq remain bottom of the table with 5 points, facing an increasingly difficult challenge in the upcoming rounds
