MUSCAT, FEB 22
The curtain falls this evening, on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Volleyball Shield as Seeb and Al Bashayer meet in the final at 9:00 pm at the main hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. The match will be held under the auspices of Said bin Abdullah al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, in a showdown expected to reflect the tournament’s stature as one of the premier competitions of the domestic season.
SEEB, CHASING AN EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE TITLE
Seeb enter the final with clear ambition to extend their dominance and claim an eighth consecutive Ministry Shield title an achievement that underlines the technical and administrative stability the club has enjoyed in recent years. Seeb were crowned champions last season after defeating Majees in straight sets.
On paper, Seeb hold a slight technical edge, bolstered by strong match readiness and extensive experience in finals. Their recent external participations, most notably in the West Asia Championship in Kuwait where they finished fifth, provided valuable competitive exposure and elevated their performance rhythm ahead of the decisive clash. The team relies on experienced players, powerful serving, and tactical discipline that has defined their campaign throughout the season.

AL BASHAYER, A CHANCE TO WRITE A NEW CHAPTER
On the other side, Al Bashayer approach the final determined to “turn the tables,” seeking to avenge their straight-sets defeat to Seeb in the First Division League final and prove their ability to capture what would be a historic title for the club.
Al Bashayer reached the final following a series of strong performances that reflected notable development in collective play, both defensively and offensively, confirming they are not to be underestimated. The team understands that facing Seeb requires intense focus from the outset, efficient use of opportunities, and resilience in decisive moments against an opponent accustomed to handling the pressure of finals.
Seeb head coach Jamal al Maamari expressed his gratitude for reaching the final for the eighth consecutive time, stating that it reflects the team’s stability and continuous hard work. He noted that Seeb have won seven consecutive titles out of 14 previous editions, and that winning the 15th edition would secure an eighth straight crown. He added that the team is fully prepared both technically and physically following recent external participations that elevated performance levels and provided valuable experience.
Regarding Al Bashayer, Al Maamari stressed that the final will be balanced and challenging against a strong side featuring national team players and high-level professionals, requiring full concentration until the end. He emphasised that the objective is to retain the title and deliver a performance worthy of Seeb’s name.
