MUSCAT: In the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines the holy month, an elite group of the Pakistani expatriate community in Oman has launched its annual Ramadhan Ration Drive 2026, providing essential food supplies to over 100 deserving families across Oman.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, at Ghuman House, which served as the central hub for organising and distributing the relief goods.
Each ration pack includes essential items such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, pulses and dates, ensuring families can observe their fasts with dignity and ease.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ambassador Bokhari praised the Elite Group of the Pakistani Community in Oman for their consistent philanthropic efforts. “The Pakistani community in Oman has always been at the forefront of charitable activities. Seeing this elite group come together to support over 100 families is a testament to the true spirit of Ramadhan and the values of our people,” he said.
The organisers, Ibrahim Ahmed and Syed Zaib Hassan Jaffery, reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the rations reach those most in need. By focusing on local communities in Oman, the drive aims to ease the financial burden on low-income households during the festive month.
The initiative, targeting families across various regions of Oman, received widespread appreciation from residents. “This drive is a shining example of how the Pakistani expatriate community positively contributes to the social fabric of Oman while supporting their own,” noted community members.
The Ramadhan Ration Drive highlights the enduring commitment of the Pakistani community in Oman to philanthropy and social solidarity, offering practical support and reinforcing community bonds during the holy month.
Elite Group members Qamar Riaz, Ahmed Ghuman, Kashif Gujjar, Bilal Yousaf, Usman Hashmi, Ahmed Raza Qadri and Aqib Gujjar, actively assisted in coordinating the drive.
