Muscat: Al Bashayer Veterinary Hospital was inaugurated in the Wilayat of Adam, al Dakhiliyah Governorate, on February 17, marking a significant step towards strengthening livestock healthcare and supporting food security in the Sultanate of Oman.
The hospital represents a national partnership aimed at enhancing camel health and reinforcing the country’s food security system. Camels hold special importance in Oman as a vital component of the agricultural and livestock sector, a symbol of national identity and heritage, and an asset of economic value.
The new facility offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including general and specialised clinics, advanced diagnostic imaging, precise medical examinations, and fully equipped operating theatres supported by the latest technologies. It also houses modern laboratories for advanced testing and analysis, a veterinary pharmacy and specialised camel care units that meet approved health standards.
In addition, the hospital provides embryo transfer services and mobile veterinary clinics to extend care to breeders in different locations.
The project is expected to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosis and treatment, ensure faster response to emergency cases, and provide closer and more accessible services to livestock owners, particularly camel breeders.
The inauguration of Al Bashayer Veterinary Hospital underscores ongoing efforts to develop the livestock sector, safeguard animal health and contribute to sustainable food security in the Sultanate.
