Oman telecoms revenues rise to RO 961m in 2025

MUSCAT – Revenues of licensed telecoms companies in Oman rose to RO 961 million in 2025, up from RO 768 million in 2021, according to figures presented at the sector’s media briefing.The data showed a sharp expansion in Internet of Things (IoT) services.
Subscriptions climbed to 1.632 million in 2025 from 356,000 in 2021 — a cumulative increase of 358% over five years.On infrastructure, fibre subscriptions increased to 356,000 in 2025 (up 93% from 2021). Fibre coverage reached 957,000 premises, representing 67% coverage.
Fifth-generation networks also expanded. The number of 5G base stations rose to 6,271 in 2025 from 1,587 in 2021, while fixed 5G subscriptions reached 220,000.The figures also indicated that the investment-to-revenue ratio stood at 25% in 2025, compared with 30% in 2021.
Looking ahead to 2026, the announced priorities included a “Growth” programme aimed at increasing sector revenues, alongside new guidelines for connected vehicles and a system to manage requests for telecoms service provision across governorates, as part of a broader push to support investment and improve service quality.
