MUSCAT: Around 628 children aged between 5 and 14 participated in the 7th National Brainobrain Fest held at the Middle East College Student Hub, marking one of the largest mental math gatherings in the city.
Organised by Brainobrain, an international skills development programme focused on enhancing memory and concentration among young learners, the event brought together students from across Oman for a day of competition and celebration of cognitive excellence.
Participants competed in multiple categories, including Champions, Gold Toppers and Silver Toppers, demonstrating speed, accuracy and remarkable mental agility. The competition tested calculation skills, memory power and concentration, offering children a platform to showcase their abilities in a structured and encouraging environment.
The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony presided over by Arul Subramaniam, Managing Director of Brainobrain International. Parents, faculty members and invited guests attended the programme, lending further significance to the occasion.
Beyond the competition, the fest featured cultural performances and interactive discussions on education and parenting, creating a holistic learning atmosphere. Young participants also displayed stage confidence through performances and presentations, adding vibrancy to the day-long programme.
The prize-distribution ceremony formed the highlight of the event, with winners honoured by the chief guest, Mazin bin Zaher al Sulaimani, alongside Arul Subramaniam. Faculty members were also recognised for their contribution to organising and mentoring the participants.
Organisers reiterated the value of the abacus-based methodology, which continues to gain popularity for its effectiveness in strengthening memory, concentration and analytical thinking skills among children.
Through initiatives such as the National Brainobrain Fest, the organisation aims to foster academic confidence and cognitive development at an early age.
The successful conclusion of the 7th edition reaffirmed Brainobrain’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting innovative educational initiatives in Oman.
