Traditional shooting contest

KHASAB: The 3rd edition of the traditional shooting championship concluded on Thursday in the Wilayat of Khasab, Governorate of Musandam. The event, held as part of the Musandam Winter Festival, drew a wide public response due to the fact that it represented a way of safeguarding aspects of the Omani heritage.
The championship, organised by the Office of Musandam Governorate, aimed to highlight traditional sports that constituted a cornerstone of Omani national identity and offer an opportunity for fair competition. Nadir bin Suleiman al Shehhi won first place in the championship, in which he registered 52 points. Second place went to Saad bin Said al Shehhi (45 points), while third place was won by Abdullah bin Ali al Shehhi (40 points). The trophies were handed over to the winners by Shaikh Abdullah bin Salim al Farsi, Wali of Khasab. — ONA
