Emergency centre activated amid fire outbreak in Al Hamra

 

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has swiftly activated its emergency centre following the outbreak of a fire in the Ras Al Harq area of Al Hamra, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, underscoring an immediate, round-the-clock response to the incident.

In a statement, the authority said the centre was mobilised as soon as reports of the fire were received, enabling continuous field monitoring and close tracking of developments at the site.

The Authority confirmed that intensive coordination is underway with the Royal Oman Police, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority and other concerned bodies. Specialised firefighting teams have already begun containment and suppression operations in line with approved safety and emergency protocols.

Meanwhile, environmental teams from the Environment Department in Al Dakhiliyah are carrying out on-site monitoring and assessments to identify any potential environmental repercussions and to implement precautionary measures aimed at limiting the impact.

Reaffirming its preparedness, the EA stressed its readiness to respond to such emergencies in full coordination with relevant agencies, prioritising public safety and the protection of the environment.
