NDC organises seminar on strategic issues

MUSCAT: The National Defence College (NDC) at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies commenced on Monday its annual strategic issues seminar titled 'Youth and National Decision-Making: From Empowerment to Impact.'
The event opened under the auspices of Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).
A number of government entities are participating in the seminar as part of the curriculum for the college's thirteenth course, with activities scheduled to continue until February 12. The seminar covers several key themes, most notably participation and decision-making, citizenship and belonging, creativity and innovation, and sustainable digital empowerment.


The seminar aims to strengthen the pivotal role of youth in formulating national initiatives and integrating their visions and aspirations into the national decision-making process. It also seeks to deepen the values of belonging and active citizenship by engaging youth in strategic national issues.
Furthermore, the seminar aims to enhance the sustainability of national decisions and policies by incorporating the voices of the youth into the design of future policies to ensure they meet the aspirations of coming generations.
Additionally, the event focuses on stimulating youthful energies for creativity and innovation and harnessing them to find practical solutions and innovative initiatives that bolster sustainable national development, while empowering youth technically and cognitively in digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications to become an effective force in the national economy. - ONA
