MUSCAT: The Care and Special Education (CSE) Centre inaugurated its annual exhibition titled Teach to Reach – 'Expanding Possibilities' on Saturday at its premises at Indian School, Muscat.
Dr Alya al Gabshi, Chairperson of the Oman Autism Centre, attended as chief guest, while Dr Abdullah bin Hamad al Maamari, Studies and Follow-up Specialist at the Ministry of Education, was the guest of honour.
In his address, CSE Director Shameer PTK reflected on the Centre’s nearly 34-year journey of dedicated service. He paid tribute to the visionaries who laid its foundation, noting that their compassion and commitment to inclusive education created opportunities for countless children to receive specialised support.
“Today, CSE stands as a living testament to that original vision — a sanctuary where every child is valued and empowered to realise their highest potential,” he said.
He emphasised that the exhibition reflects the Centre’s core belief that every child can learn, grow and contribute meaningfully when provided with the right adaptive tools and purposeful opportunities.
The CSE Exhibition 2026 showcases a wide range of adaptive learning tools, assistive technologies, rehabilitative aids and vocational initiatives. “These are not merely displays; they are practical bridges to independence,” he noted, adding that such solutions help students build confidence and life skills necessary to navigate the world with dignity.
Highlighting the evolving landscape of education and rehabilitation, he said advancements in technology and research-driven pedagogy are enabling institutions to move beyond perceived limitations and create environments where every child can thrive.
“Inclusion is far more than a checklist — it is a collective social responsibility. When schools, families and communities unite, we dismantle barriers and create a world where every child can participate fully and authentically,” he added.
The opening ceremony also recognised winners of a poster competition on the theme of inclusion, with participation from various schools. Faculty members who completed 10 and 20 years of service at CSE were honoured.
Among the exhibition’s highlights were handcrafted products created by students, including earrings, bracelets, notepads, trays, keychains and block-printed fabrics. The event also featured a fun zone, pet zone, food stalls, boutiques, a photo studio and customised product counters, drawing enthusiastic participation from visitors.
The two-day exhibition, featuring students of eight nationalities, concludes today, February 8. The event is open from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm.
