NIZWA: The Department of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate launched the ‘Bridges: Oman Identity and Civilisation’ event at Nizwa Fort, with activities held over four days.
The event aims to familiarise visitors with the features of authentic Omani identity and the Sultanate’s rich cultural and civilisational heritage, through a series of educational and cultural showcases.
The programme is organised around four main sections: Omani Identity, Islamic Publications, Muslim Women and Hospitality, each highlighting key aspects of Oman’s social, cultural and religious fabric.
Saad bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Head of the Department of Introducing Islam and Cultural Exchange at the Department of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, said the ‘Bridges’ event has been held in several locations in previous editions.
He noted that hosting it in the Wilayat of Nizwa reflects the city’s significant tourism appeal, as it attracts large numbers of visitors daily from within and outside Oman. — ONA
