Special Olympics table tennis & badminton champions crowned

MUSCAT: The activities of the national “Table Tennis and Badminton” competition of the Omani Special Olympics concluded on Saturday at the Sports Complex in Suhar.
The closing ceremony events, organised by the Omani Special Olympics, were held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, with the participation of 60 male and female athletes from various governorates of Oman.
In the table tennis competition results, first category (females), Thuraya al Shaibani from Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Bahla secured first place, followed by Sara al Buraiki from the Association of Children with Disabilities in Suhar in second place, while Ruqayyah al Maamari from Al Wafa Centre in Liwa claimed third place.
In the first category (males), Al Qasim al Badawi from Al Wafa Centre in Al Mudhaibi won first place, Abdullah al Jabri from Al Wafa Centre in Suhar finished second, and Abdullah al Ghafri from the Association of Children with Disabilities in Suhar came third.
In the second category (males), Suhaib al Rahbi from Al Wafa Centre in Ibra secured the first place, Mohammed al Maqbali from Al Wafa Centre in Suhar came second, and Zakariya al Majrafi from Al Wafa Centre in Ibri took third place.
Badminton results showed Hassan al Sinani winning first place in the first category (males) from Al Wafa Centre in Al Khabourah, followed by Muneeb al Lamki from the Intellectual Education School in second, and Said al Qartoubi from Al Wafa Centre in Al Khabourah in third.
In the second category (males), Mohammed al Rudaini from Al Wafa Centre in Al Khabourah claimed first place, Aasim al Ameri from Al Wafa Centre in Al Suwaiq came second, and Abdulhakim al Habsi from Al Wafa Centre in Al Mudhaibi finished third.
In the third classification category, Mishaal al Ameri from Al Wafa Centre in Al Suwaiq secured first place, Abdullah al Noubi from Al Wafa Centre in Salalah came second, and Ahmed al Barashdi from Al Wafa Centre in Al Mudhaibi took third place.
In the badminton competition for females, first category, Rayyan al Musallami from Al Wafa Centre in Nizwa achieved first place, Maryam al Siyabi from Al Wafa Centre in Bidbid came second, and Sharifa al Farsi from the Association of Children with Disabilities in Suhar finished third.
In the second category (females), Najla al Yahyai from Al Wafa Centre in Al Suwaiq claimed first place, Shadiya al Shukaili from Al Wafa Centre in Nizwa came second, and Fatima al Sinani from Al Wafa Centre in Al Khabourah secured third place.
