Al Bashayer camel racing festival promotes cultural heritage

ADAM: The 9th Al Bashayer Camel Racing Festival, which kicked off recently, will include events that reflect the Sultanate of Oman’s cultural heritage and enhance integration among cultural, sporting and marketing activities.
The festival will support traditional business households and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in addition to establishing an integrated platform for marketing traditional products and attracting tourists and visitors from Oman and abroad.
Ahmed bin Nasser al Junaibi, Head of the committee tasked with cultural, heritage, marketing and sports events that accompany Al Bashayer Camel Racing Festival, said that camel races constitute a historical symbol for Omani people and a major component in Omani people’s culture, economy and social life. - ONA
