Oman Handball Association reviews preparations for upcoming events

MUSCAT: The Board of Directors of the Oman Handball Association (OHA) will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Moosa bin Khamis al Balushi, OHA Chairman, and in the presence of board members, to discuss several key issues related to the development of the sport in the coming period.
Heading the agenda is a review of the administrative and technical reports concerning the participation of the Oman national handball team in the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship, recently concluded in Kuwait. The meeting will evaluate the team’s overall performance, highlight key positives and shortcomings and draw technical and organisational lessons aimed at improving future performances.
The board will also review the preparation plan for the national beach handball team ahead of its participation in the 6th Asian Beach Games, scheduled to be held in Sanya, China, from April 22 to 30. In addition, preparations for the fourth Gulf Games, set to take place in Doha, Qatar, from May 11 to 22, will be discussed, as the federation seeks to ensure optimal readiness for both competitions.
The meeting will further address the participation of Omani clubs in upcoming international competitions. Discussions will include the participation of Omani clubs in the 42nd GCC Clubs Handball Championship, to be hosted by Bahrain in March, with the participation of Al Ahli (Bahrain), Al Kuwait (Kuwait), Al Arabi (Qatar), Al Khaleej (Saudi Arabia), in addition to two clubs from the host nation. The board will also review preparations for Seeb Club’s participation in the Asian Clubs Handball Championship, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in April.
Moreover, the board will discuss the launch of the second stage of the 15th Ministry Shield Competition, set to begin on February 9, along with updates on the First Division Handball League and the Junior Beach Handball League.
The meeting will conclude with a review of reports submitted by the OHA's committees, including
the National Teams and Competitions Committee, the Referees Committee and the Athlete
Development Centres, in addition to discussing incoming correspondence and taking decisions that
support the continued development of handball in Oman.
