Digital momentum in government transformation path

 

IBRA: Al Sharqiyah North Governorate continues to make steady progress on the path of government digital transformation, achieving tangible and qualitative advancements throughout 2025. This progress is reflected in a specialised package of digital projects and initiatives, alongside a systematic expansion in service automation. These efforts align with the objectives of the National Programme for Government Digital Transformation (Tahawul) and the strategic directions of Oman Vision 2040 towards an integrated digital government that meets community aspirations and supports comprehensive development.
Dr Badr bin Saif al Hatmi, Head of the Digital Transformation Team in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, explained that the number of transactions completed through the governorate’s digital channels reached 21,555 during the period from January to November 2025. Digitisation efforts contributed to converting 14 external services and 11 internal services into an automated digital system, thereby enhancing institutional efficiency, raising the quality of services provided and establishing a more flexible operating environment responsive to beneficiary needs. - ONA
