Al Bashayer were crowned champions of the 2025–26 Oman Basketball League, securing their fifth league title despite an 80–61 defeat to Seeb in the final round, thanks to their superior points tally.
Al Bashayer finished the season with 19 points, edging Seeb, who ended runners-up with 18 points. Nizwa claimed third place after defeating Salalah 77–66 to conclude the campaign with 14 points.
The closing match and award ceremony were held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher under the auspices of Mohammed al Darmaki, Director HR & Corporate Support at Daleel Petroleum LLC‏, in the presence of Eng Khalfan al Naabi, Chairman of the Oman Basketball Association, along with club officials and a large crowd of basketball fans.
Although Al Bashayer had already sealed the title in the previous round, Seeb delivered a strong performance in the final game, earning a morale-boosting victory marked by discipline and offensive efficiency.
Mamadu led Seeb’s scoring with 22 points, followed by Nouh al Ameri (16), Abdulrahman al Shuaibi (15) and Rashid al Zahaibi (10). For Al Bashayer, Ibrahima Thomas recorded 17 points, while Hadid Bait Bakheet added 11.


The opening quarter ended level at 13–13 before Seeb gradually took control in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 46–33 advantage. Seeb maintained their dominance in the third and fourth quarters to close out the contest at 80–61.
Following the final whistle, the patron of the ceremony and the OBA chairman crowned the winners. Al Bashayer received the league shield and gold medals, Seeb were awarded the second-place shield and silver medals, while Nizwa claimed the bronze medals for finishing third.
OSAMA BEST PLAYMAKER
In the individual awards, Osama al Riyami of Al Bashayer won the best playmaker award, Rashid al Zuhaibi of Seeb was named best centre, Kingsley of Nizwa claimed the top-scorer award and Noah al Mahrouqi of Al Bashayer won the best three-point shooter award.
Eng Khalfan al Naabi congratulated Al Bashayer on their well-deserved title, praising the team’s technical level and discipline throughout the season. He also commended the strong performances of Seeb and Nizwa, noting that the intense competition reflects the continuous development of basketball in Oman.
Mohammed al Darmaki reaffirmed Daleel Petroleum’s commitment to supporting basketball, highlighting the role of private-sector partnerships in sustaining and developing sports in Oman.
Al Bashayer head coach Mahmoud Ambu Ali described the title as the result of collective effort and long-term planning, noting that the team’s focus will now shift to upcoming domestic competitions.
