Oman’s GDP expands 2% in Q3

MUSCAT: Oman’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices grew by 2 per cent in the third quarter of 2025, reaching RO 9.9112 billion, compared to RO 9.7129 billion in the same quarter of 2024.
Preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that the growth was largely driven by a 2 per cent rise in the value added of non-oil activities, which reached RO 7.3032 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2025, up from RO 7.1599 billion a year earlier.
At the level of economic activities, construction recorded growth of 1.3 per cent, contributing RO 1.0348 billion. Wholesale and retail trade also expanded by 1.3 per cent to RO 830.5 million. Public administration and defence activities increased by 1.5 per cent, reaching RO 932.5 million in the third quarter of 2025.
Oil activities registered growth of 1.9 per cent, with value added rising to RO 3.0676 billion in the third quarter of 2025, compared to RO 3.0104 billion in the same period of 2024.
Crude oil activity rose by 2 per cent to RO 2.5548 billion during the third quarter of 2025, up from RO 2.5057 billion a year earlier. Natural gas activity also increased by 1.6 per cent, reaching RO 512.8 million, compared to RO 504.7 million in the same period. — ONA
