KHASAB: A training programme designed to qualify small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their ability to compete for government tenders and contracts was held at the Musandam Governorate branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
The programme aims to maximise the benefit these enterprises receive from the 10-per cent mandatory allocation of government tenders and projects. It provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand government procurement requirements and build institutional readiness, enabling local businesses to transform available opportunities into effective partnerships within development projects, particularly given the unique geographical nature and promising investment potential of Musandam Governorate.
The programme featured several specialised working papers that addressed best practices for bid preparation, as well as the procedures for registering and classifying companies on the “Isnad” platform. It also covered the essential readiness requirements for entering government competitions. This initiative is part of the “Tamkeen” programme launched by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, the Secretariat-General of the Tender Board and Riyada. These efforts align with the Chamber’s strategic direction to improve the business environment, expand the economic diversification base and foster a partnership in the economic development of Oman’s governorates. — ONA
