Majlis Ash’shura regular sessions next week

MUSCAT: The Majlis Ash’shura will hold its regular sessions (6, 7 and 8) next week for the third ordinary convening period of its tenth term.
The Council will host Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, on January 7-8. The minister will deliver his ministry's statement before the members of the Majlis Ash’shura in a public session, in accordance with Article 69 of the Council of Oman.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura, stated in a comment: 'The Council will discuss the Ministry of Labour's statement during its seventh and eighth regular sessions of the third ordinary convening period of the tenth term (2023–2027). These sessions are the first dedicated to discussing ministerial statements for the current ordinary convening period.' He added that the statement includes 5 main themes. The first theme discusses the ministry's policies, plans and programmes for the Tenth Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) under 'Oman Vision 2040', including the programmes of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025) assigned to the Ministry of Labour.
He indicated that the second theme will address the legislation and laws regulating work in the private and public sectors.
The third theme of the statement will discuss the aspect of work and employment in the public and private sectors by presenting the ministry's efforts in bridging the gap between supply and demand in the labour and employment sector, the most prominent sustainable job initiatives and operational programmes in the public and private sectors, Al Nadabi pointed out.
Regarding the theme of training, the statement will address the most prominent approved training plans and programmes in empowering national cadres to occupy various jobs and professions in the public and private sectors and initiatives for training coupled with employment.
The Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura added that the fifth theme of the statement will address the topic of digital transformation and electronic linkage.
He further added that the Council will hold its sixth regular session on January 6, which will be dedicated to discussing the draft Urban Planning Law referred by the government. - ONA
