Ministry plans to develop a mountain biking trail

Muscat - As part of the efforts to give a unique tourism experience, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has unveiled plans to design and develop a dedicated mountain biking trail of varying difficulty levels to suit beginners, amateurs, and professionals.

Bids for the consultancy services for the project were opened on December 12.

The project will also offer recreational facilities and support services such as bike rental and maintenance, and other components, which will be done in harmony with the surrounding natural environment to create a unified and attractive visitor experience.
These components and the vision will be translated into a practical design through the preparation of a master plan for the project, and the plans include a zoning strategy and the integrated distribution of park components to ensure safety, efficiency, and an enjoyable visitor experience, while preserving the unique environmental and cultural character of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar region.

'The consultant shall translate these components and the overall vision into an implementable design by preparing a comprehensive master plan for the project, including a detailed zoning strategy and spatial distribution of all park components, ensuring safety, efficiency, and visitor experience standards while preserving the unique environmental and cultural identity of Wilayat Al Jabal Al Akhdhar,” as per details in the tender.
