Rif Muscat and Al Patriota shine at Al Rahba as tenth race meeting concludes

BARKA: The Al Rahba Racecourse in the Wilayat of Barka hosted an exciting finale to the tenth race meeting of the 2025–2026 season, organised by the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation through the Oman Horse Racing Club, with strong competition across eight races and a high technical standard throughout the programme.
The meeting featured four races for purebred Arabians, two for locally bred horses and two for Thoroughbreds, drawing notable performances from jockeys, trainers and owners.
The opening race, the Wadi Al Khoudh Dam Stakes for purebred Arabians over 1,200 metres, was won by Rif Muscat, owned by Ghassan bin Issa al Rawshdi, ridden by Munis bin Salem al Siyabi and trained by Shihab bin Dhiyab al Balushi, the winner produced a confident display to finish ahead of Iram in second and Labwah Al Shahaniya in third.
Commenting on the victory, jockey Munis bin Salem al Siyabi said “The race was highly competitive from the start, Rif Muscat responded well and showed great balance, which reflects the quality of preparation and teamwork behind this result.”
In the Wadi Dhayqah Dam Stakes for locally bred Arabians over 1,600 metres, Barq Al Suwaih claimed first place, followed by Najm Ibri in second and A S Wahaj in third, the Wadi Khasab Dam Stakes over the same distance saw Bousdrah secure victory, ahead of A G S Sarhan and A G S Burkan.
The fourth race, the Wadi Tanuf Dam Stakes over 2,000 metres, was topped by Saadat Muscat, while Subat dominated the Wadi Al Sahtan Dam Stakes to take first place in another competitive Arabian contest.
In the Thoroughbred races, Tadshin won the Wadi Sahalnout Dam Stakes over 2,000 metres, and Al Patriota concluded the meeting in style by claiming the Wadi Al Jizzi Dam Stakes over 2,200 metres, ahead of Jistic Protocol and Royal Touch.
Trainer Shihab bin Dhiyab al Balushi praised the overall standard of the meeting, stating “The races reflected strong preparation and growing professionalism, these results highlight the positive development of horse racing in Oman and the federation’s commitment to raising performance levels.”
The successful conclusion of the tenth race meeting reaffirmed Al Rahba Racecourse as a key venue in the season, showcasing competitive racing and continued progress in Omani horse racing.
