Al Wusta Winter 2026 events announced

HAIMA: Al Wusta Governorate on Monday announced the events for 'Al Wusta Winter 2026,' scheduled to take place from January to March 2026. The initiative aims to highlight the governorate's rich tourism, cultural and heritage potential.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Musallam al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, emphasised in a speech that the Al Wusta Winter events are part of ongoing efforts to stimulate tourism and economic activity within the governorate and to strengthen its presence as a promising tourist destination. He further noted the significance of these events in supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and showcasing the cultural and traditional heritage of the local community.
The Al Wusta Winter 2026 programme includes a diverse array of cultural, entertainment and sports activities, alongside heritage events, traditional markets and artistic performances. Designed to appeal to all segments of society, the program seeks to attract visitors from both within and outside the governorate.
Specific activities will include a shooting competition, an artistic concert, camel racing, a 'Muzayna' (camel beauty pageant), as well as specialised events for Ramadhan and Eid Al Fitr, with various activities distributed across the governorate's different wilayats.
The Al Wusta Winter events will proceed according to an integrated timeline aimed at providing a unique tourism experience that reflects authentic Omani identity and supports the sustainable development process in Al Wusta Governorate. — ONA
