MANAH: The fourth edition of the Youth Dialogue Session in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate commenced on Monday, focusing on the current state of the agricultural, livestock and water resource sectors.
Organised by the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Agriculture and Water Resources, the two-day event aims to explore ways to develop these sectors and enhance their management efficiency.
Participated in by a group of young people, specialists and interested parties, the session is part of ongoing national efforts to strengthen food security and consolidate concepts of sustainable management of natural resources.
The dialogue aims to shed light on the reality of the agricultural and water sectors in the governorate, discussing technical and regulatory aspects of their development. It also reviews successful local experiences and best practices while examining the requirements for the upcoming stage, primarily raising resource use efficiency, expanding the application of modern technologies, improving productivity levels, and enhancing added value in line with national directives.

Khadija bint Said al Khiyariyah, Director of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, stated that these youth dialogue sessions represent an important platform for enhancing youth participation in discussing developmental issues. She added that they contribute to formulating practical visions and ideas that support sustainable development efforts in the governorate. She emphasised that organising this fourth edition for the year 2025 reflects the governorate’s commitment to involving youth and specialists in these vital sectors to benefit from their expertise and proposals.
The first day of the session focused on the agricultural and livestock sectors through working papers and discussion panels that addressed development opportunities, operational efficiency, and support for responsible investment initiatives.
The session will continue tomorrow to cover several topics related to the water resources sector, as well as the investment landscape in agriculture, livestock, fisheries and water resources across the governorate. — ONA
