Call for clear communication with society

During his meeting with State Council members on Monday, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik stressed the importance of effective executive mechanisms to translate proposals into practical action, while underscoring the need for clear communication with society on national issues and ongoing reforms.

This emphasis reflects His Majesty’s commitment to accelerating development and achieving national goals.

He emphasised that the ambitious development plans in Oman require a clear and precise framework that defines responsibilities, sets priorities, and ensures continuous monitoring and evaluation. Executive mechanisms are not just procedural tools; they are the backbone of project success.

Developing these mechanisms and equipping them with qualified personnel and modern technology is essential. His Majesty also called for overcoming obstacles to project implementation and finding innovative solutions to challenges facing development.

His Majesty stressed the importance of effective communication with society on national issues. Transparency and clarity build trust between the government and citizens and enhance community participation in decision-making.

Omani society is more aware of the country’s challenges and opportunities. Citizens have the right to be informed about development programmes and future plans and participate in national dialogue on relevant issues.

His Majesty emphasised balancing economic and social development. Development is not just about economic figures; it improves Omani citizens’ quality of life and provides equal opportunities.

Investment in infrastructure and productive sectors must be coupled with investment in Omani human capital through education, health, and training.

Omani citizens are the nation’s true wealth and can lead development forward.

As Oman is undergoing a significant transformation, moving away from its traditional reliance on hydrocarbon revenues towards a diversified, sustainable, and human-centric economic model, as outlined in Oman Vision 2040 plan, there is a need to adopt the strategic shift that is characterised by measured urban development, fiscal reforms, human capital development, and targeted investments in non-oil sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, renewable energy, and tourism.

Economically, Oman has made substantial progress in fiscal consolidation and diversification.

The economy is making good progress, as the Sultanate of Oman has transitioned from the recovery phase to one of economic growth and expansion.

The government is working to facilitate the business environment and attract foreign investment by simplifying procedures, providing competitive incentives, and strengthening partnerships with investors, which will open doors to new opportunities.
