MUSCAT: In a highly competitive first leg of the First Division Volleyball League semifinals for the 2025–2026 season, Al Seeb Club secured an important 3–1 victory over Majees Club in a match held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
Al Seeb started strongly and claimed the first set 25–23, benefiting from accurate serving and organised attacking play. In the second set, Majees responded with determination, applying sustained pressure and eventually winning a hard-fought set 31–29 after a prolonged battle.
Al Seeb regained control in the third set, showing clear improvement in blocking and defence to edge it 25–23, before sealing the fourth set with greater confidence at 25–17, capitalising on Majees’ dip in performance and an increase in unforced errors.
Match statistics highlighted Al Seeb’s overall superiority in total points scored (104–94). Both teams committed an equal number of errors (35 each), reflecting the closely contested nature of the match and the sustained pressure throughout.
In serving, Majees recorded five direct service points compared to just two for Al Seeb, but this advantage was not enough to change the outcome, especially as Majees committed 16 service errors compared to 14 by Al Seeb.
At the net, Al Seeb held the edge with 14 blocking points against 11 for Majees an element that played a decisive role in neutralising the opposition’s attack, particularly in the third and fourth sets.
Top Scorers Head-to-Head
On an individual level, the top scorers’ numbers were remarkably close. Alexandru Majees player, scored 19 points, while Bojdan Al Seeb finished with 18. Alexandru registered 14 successful attacks compared to 13 for Bojdan, but the attacking efficiency favoured Bojdan at 41 per cent versus 32 per cent. In addition, the Bojdan excelled in blocking 5 blocks to 2.

In the other first-leg semifinal of the First Division Volleyball League for the 2025–2026 season, Al Bashayer Club asserted complete control and recorded a convincing straight-sets victory over Sohar Club, confirming its readiness to compete for a place in the final.
The first set was relatively balanced, with Sohar attempting to keep pace, but Al Bashayer prevailed in the closing points to win 25–23 thanks to greater composure in decisive moments.
In the second set, Al Bashayer raised the tempo and imposed its attacking superiority, taking advantage of weaknesses in Sohar’s reception to win comfortably 25–15.
Al Bashayer maintained its dominance in the third set, controlling play and closing it out 25–18 to complete a clean 3–0 victory.
Statistics showed Al Bashayer’s superiority in most aspects of the match, scoring 75 points compared to 56 for Sohar. In terms of general errors, Sohar committed 14 errors, while Al Bashayer made 23.
In direct serving points, Sohar scored one point compared to two for Al Bashayer, while Sohar had fewer service errors (2) compared to Al Bashayer’s 13.
At the net, Al Bashayer was clearly dominant, registering 15 blocking points compared to just 5 for Sohar, a decisive factor in the match result.
Top Scorers
Individually, Al Bashayer’s Flamm al Jaradi stood out with an outstanding performance, scoring 21 points with an attacking success rate of 59 per cent, compared to 10 points for Sohar’s Shisha, highlighting the clear difference in attacking effectiveness between the two sides.
