Focus on the present and envision what the future holds

With only a few days left to get through 2025, we find ourselves surrounded by a familiar blend of sparkle and pressure. As fairy lights illuminate buildings and Christmas and New Year markets open, many of us also feel the quiet weight of the year settling on our shoulders.
For millennia, individuals have contemplated the brevity of existence. However, writing about it is one thing; experiencing it is quite another. Time progresses at a constant rate, but our perception of it changes as we grow older.
To live our best lives, we must be purposeful, reflecting on our past, present, and future.
Robert Frost, one of America's most popular 20th-century poets, was often described as flinty and moody, yet plainspoken and profound. He famously said, “In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”
With each year passing swiftly, like a dream that fades at dawn, I realise that what truly endure are the emotions we experience and the insights we acquire. Indeed, for some individuals, the end of this year marks the conclusion of one chapter in their lives and the beginning of another.
For some, the only difference is the change of the date on the calendar. However, we don't always immediately recognise the end of something because, ultimately, every ending marks the beginning of something new.
This is life: we achieve, stumble, rise again, and try once more. This cycle defines our humanity. However, as individuals, we must also strategise to create opportunities for new achievements and to experience success.
I am someone who enjoys acquiring knowledge, but I often take on too much at once. I have many ideas that come to me, yet I am unable to realise them all. But when I review the list later, I often recognise that I lack the time or motivation to accomplish everything.
To lead a fulfilling life, one must plan and act with intention—simple in theory but often challenging in practice. However, it need not be as difficult as we sometimes make it. This is your life and, therefore, your only opportunity to live it fully. Approach it sincerely, and the rewards will be significant.
We should believe what Albert Einstein, who revolutionised our understanding of the universe with his groundbreaking theories of special and general relativity, said: 'With each choice you make, you create your life.'
Most of our days are filled with choices, both big and small, and they all matter — even when we aren’t consciously making any. We grow by recognising our mistakes, understanding where we went wrong, and making adjustments to avoid repeating them.
Carrying regrets and dwelling on the past can make life difficult and cause anxiety about the future. Learn from the past, and then let it go. Be your own best friend: embrace who you are and forgive yourself when necessary.
Focus on the present and envision what lies ahead. Understand that fear serves as a warning. Acknowledge it, but do not let it control you. If life is unjust, then create justice. You hold the reins of your life and your future.
You need to choose what is best for yourself. Avoid making assumptions and focus on the facts. Do not depend on others, as individuals cannot always be relied upon. Feelings are fleeting and unreliable — avoid making decisions based solely on emotions.
I believe we can make good choices when we carefully weigh the consequences and possibilities, stay true to our morals and values, and ensure that fears and doubts do not influence our decisions. Let us welcome the future with positivity, determination, and gratitude.
I wish you all for the upcoming year to be abundant.
