Oman shines at UMAI Inter-Dojo Championship in Qatar

MUSCAT: Young martial artists from Oman delivered an outstanding performance at the UMAI Inter-Dojo Karate Championship held in Qatar, returning with an impressive tally of medals across kata and kumite.
Demonstrating skill, discipline, and competitive spirit, the team’s results stood out among regional participants, further highlighting Oman’s growing strength in youth martial arts.
Leading the medal haul was Hiba Shihab, who dominated her categories with double gold in both kata and kumite. Iyas Khalid matched the achievement with his own double gold, showcasing superb technique and control on the mat.
Turky Mansoor added to Oman’s glory with gold in kata and silver in kumite, while Manha secured a well-earned silver in kata. Shamil rounded off the team’s success with silver in kata and bronze in kumite following a spirited performance.
Coordinators Nisamudin and Jabir of UMAI Kung-Fu & Karate said they were proud of how the students carried themselves, noting that the results reflect the “hard work, discipline, and commitment the young athletes put into their training.”
Parents and trainers celebrated the team’s achievements, praising the athletes for representing Oman with determination and sportsmanship.
With their success in Qatar, the UMAI Oman students have set a high benchmark for future competitions, inspiring fellow practitioners across the Sultanate.
