MUSCAT: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Muscat celebrated International Accounting Day 2025, bringing together industry experts, academic leaders and students from UTAS branches and several invited colleges across the Sultanate of Oman.
The celebration, organised by the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA), marked the third consecutive year that UTAS Muscat has hosted the event and its national competitions, reinforcing the university’s commitment to innovation and excellence in accounting education in Oman.
Held under the theme “Future-Ready Accountants: Evolving with Intelligence', the event highlighted the changing role of accounting professionals in an increasingly digital and data-driven economy, while encouraging students to embrace technology, ethics, analytical skills and innovation as key elements for future professional success.
The event also featured keynote interventions and expert discussions delivered by leading accounting professionals from the region, who addressed global talent trends, data storytelling, ethics in artificial intelligence and the evolving competency requirements of employers globally. Speakers included Ahmad Bilal Manzoor from ACCA Middle East, Sohail Khan, Vice-President – Financial Control & Tax, from OQ Group, Rohit Menon from Phoenix Financial Training and Syed Ilyas, Head of Finance from International Live Solution LLC.
