QIRTAAS: Muscat’s new night of art and expression

MUSCAT: A vibrant new creative experience is coming to Muscat on Friday December 12, as Studio 22 launches QIRTAAS, an event inviting artists of all kinds to showcase their work and express themselves.
Held at Al Mouj Golf from 6 pm — 11 pm, the debut edition aims to unite creatives in a welcoming, communal setting.

Speaking to Observer, Studio 22’s CEO and Co-Founder Fatma Mirza explained:
“QIRTAAS, which means paper in Arabic, is an event for people who use paper as a medium for art in any form — songs, comedy, drawing, plays, poetry and more”.
She added that the event is rooted in inclusivity. “Our goal is to give artists a space where they feel welcome, whether they are newcomers, seasoned performers, or simply seeking a place to be heard”.

The organisers highlighted their deep connection to Oman’s artist community as inspiration.
“We are a team of artists and understand the challenges creatives face in Oman. Every event we create is for our community. With QIRTAAS, we look forward to welcoming all written and paper art artists to share their hearts freely”.
Attendees can expect a night filled with emotion and authenticity.
“You’ll see performers be vulnerable, true to themselves and experience art in fresh ways. There will be incredible voices, laughter and unmatched vibes. The open grass-field venue allows everyone to sit comfortably, enjoy good drinks or food and simply soak in the show”.

The organisers emphasise that QIRTAAS provides “a safe and cosy space where anyone can share visual or written art, fostering belonging and community”.
Studio 22, made up of artists and art enthusiasts, seeks to build a sustainable creative hub, hosting regular events and initiatives to nurture community growth, connection and opportunities for artists.
