MUSCAT: Oman’s total refinery production rose by 10.9 per cent by the end of October 2025, reflecting solid growth across most fuel and petrochemical segments, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information. The increase came despite a marginal decline in overall gasoline output compared with September 2025.
Production of regular 91-octane gasoline increased by 16.8 per cent year-on-year to 14.25 million barrels, while sales edged up by 1.4 per cent. Exports, however, declined by 15.8 per cent. Premium 95-octane gasoline recorded stronger performance, with production rising by 21.1 per cent and exports surging by 117 per cent.
Diesel output grew by 10.3 per cent to 28.48 million barrels, supported by higher domestic sales and a 10 per cent increase in exports. In contrast, jet fuel production declined by 7.4 per cent, with both sales and exports registering year-on-year falls.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was one of the strongest performers, with production increasing by 14 per cent and exports jumping by nearly 63 per cent. In the petrochemical segment, benzene and paraxylene production posted moderate growth, while polypropylene output almost doubled. Export volumes of paraxylene and polypropylene rose sharply, underscoring Oman’s expanding downstream and export-oriented refining sector. — ONA
