MUSCAT, DEC 3
Muscat Arbitration Days 2025, a first-of-its-kind gathering in Oman, kicked off on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, under the auspices of Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), bringing together leading arbitrators, practitioners, policymakers and industry experts from around the world.
Positioned as a landmark event in the international arbitration calendar, the forum highlights Muscat’s emergence as a new hub for arbitration and dispute resolution. The sessions explore the development of a robust regional arbitration ecosystem, alongside key disputes arising in sectors such as oil and gas, maritime, finance and insurance.
Dr Khalid al Saidi, Chairman of the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre, emphasised that arbitration offers investors a reliable, fair and efficient mechanism for resolving disputes, reinforcing confidence in Oman’s business environment. He highlighted the Centre’s commitment to developing a modern and integrated arbitration ecosystem built on advanced legal and technical standards, supported by specialised experts and strengthened through partnerships with regional and international arbitration institutions.
He added that the first edition of Muscat Arbitration Days brings together leading global legal minds and sheds light on the rising role of artificial intelligence in streamlining procedures and expediting dispute resolution. Dr Al Saidi stressed that arbitration has become a central pillar of the modern economy, supporting investment growth and aligning with Oman Vision 2040 by enhancing competitiveness and ensuring fairness, neutrality and the protection of commercial confidentiality.
The event also examines critical issues related to enforcement challenges and the growing influence of artificial intelligence in arbitration, reflecting global shifts in dispute-resolution practices.
Showcasing Oman as a trusted, forward-looking destination for commercial dispute resolution, Muscat Arbitration Days aligns with the ambitions of Oman Vision 2040 to strengthen the national business environment and enhance the country’s global competitiveness.
