Jassim Mohammed al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has said that the 46th Gulf Summit, which will be held in Bahrain today, Wednesday, represents a major milestone for strengthening joint action.
He praised the efforts and ministerial coordination, especially in Gulf security matters, which enhances the chances of achieving tangible successes that benefit the people of the region, noting the work of the Gulf states on implementing major strategic projects, including electrical interconnection projects and joint development projects in multiple areas, including the Gulf railway project.
He also noted the contribution of strengthening land and rail connectivity in facilitating movement and increasing trade exchange between the countries of the region, which enhances the path of economic integration.
He pointed to the efforts made in the fields of digital transformation and communications, especially in light of the great importance that the Cooperation Council attaches to artificial intelligence, as in June 2021, a team specializing in emerging technologies was formed.
