MUSCAT: On the occasion of National Day, the Embassies of Nepal and the People’s Republic of China in Muscat jointly organised a 'Diplomatic Hiking' event along the scenic Mutrah–Riyam trail. The hike took place on Friday, November 28.
Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal, and Lyu Jian, Ambassador of China, led the group, which included their spouses, embassy officials, media representatives, and Omani friends. The collaboration highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between the two nations and their deep respect for Oman.
In addition to strengthening diplomatic ties, the event carried an important environmental message. Participants collected plastic bottles and other waste along the trail, underscoring a shared commitment to environmental conservation. The Embassies noted that this initiative was a meaningful way to celebrate National Day — promoting goodwill, tourism, and a collective appreciation of nature.
The Ambassadors expressed their gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and conveyed their intention to organise similar activities in the future. They also extended appreciation to the Foreign Ministry for coordinating with local authorities to ensure the availability of an ambulance throughout the hike.
